September 24th, 2014: GHL Preseason Week 1 aftermath

Hello USA and hockey fans across the world. Welcome back to the GHL blog. The first week of preseason hockey has just concluded. We had some interesting matchups today and some easy wins. Here are the final scores:

Team Quickchange: 5, Miami Bolts: 1

Excellent effort by both teams. Miami got to an early lead off a goal by Pavel Bure. However, Team Quickchange retaliated by scoring 3 goals in the second period, and 2 in the 3rd period.

HRCA Inline Hockey: 5, Team YouTube: 0

No contest here. Team YouTube didn't know how to handle the dynamic play of HRCA's captain Steve Finn. Team YouTube was lucky not to get scored on more than 5 times.

New Jersey Devils: 5, Colorado Rockies: 0

New Jersey proved their worth in this game, scoring fast, and scoring early. The Rockies weren't able to keep up with the speed of Patrick Elias and Stephane Richer. The hitting power of Scott Stevens intimidated the Rockies, and thus, Devils goalie Chris Terrerri recorded his 7th shutout, tying the record for most shutouts in a GHL career.

Pittsburgh Penguins: 5, Team England: 1

Pittsburgh once again proved that they're championship caliber. England didn't know how to handle their Eastern Conference adversary. David Clarke scored the only England goal. Pittsburgh saw goals scored by Rico Fata, Jaromir Jagr, and Dick Tarnstrom. Pittsburgh is hoping to keep their undefeated record going into Broomfield, Colorado, where they'll face the Rocky Mountain Rage next week.

Well, that's all for now. Until next time, take care, and follow the GHL.
